The Spegazzini glacier is on the middle northern arm Brazo Norte of Lago Argentino. The Upsala glacier lies on the northern most arm. The Upsala runs north from its arm of the lake, while the Spegazzini runs south from its lower arm of the lake. It is towards the top of the 'Zona Sur' in the Los Glacieres map.
You can see it better by clicking on the satellite image below, It lies to the left of peninsular Avellaneda and enter it from north of this peninsular.
I saw the glacier was on the same trip as the Upsala glacier - we had mostly sunny weather at Spegazzini, unlike the clouds over Upsala! But being in southern Patagonia, the weather is constantly changing.
The Spegazzini is relatively small, being about 17 km long, 1.3 km wide at the terminus on the lake and an area of 170 km2. It sits on the lake bottom (150 m deep) and is over 50m high, which gives some idea of its size. It faces north - east, in contrast to the Upsala glacier that faces south. It rises more rapidly than the Upsala and the Perito Moreno glaciers, and several smaller glaciers join it.
There was only one interesting iceberg while I visited, but the overall geography of the glacier and its surrounding mountains was very impressive. You can also see a couple of photos of ice breaking off the glacier face.
